Leidos is seeking a Lead Substation Physical Engineer to drive high‑impact substation design projects for grid modernization. You will work on 12 kV to 500 kV systems, applying expertise in electrical design, grounding, and layouts to deliver safe, reliable facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Experience performing grounding studies, lightning protection analysis, and lighting studies.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and internal teams to support project needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support delivery of substation physical design projects on time and with technical excellence.
• Collaborate with internal engineering groups and external clients to meet requirements.
• Perform detailed QA/QC reviews of substation design packages for accuracy and constructability.
• Read and review one-lines, three-lines, grounding layouts and foundation designs.
• Create and verify bills of materials for substation components.
• Conduct site visits to collect data and validate designs.
