Sargent & Lundy in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Substation Physical Designer to join a project team designing high and extra high voltage substations. Responsibilities include generating drawings such as General Arrangement, Electrical Equipment Plans, and Grounding and Conduit details.

The role requires 12+ years of substation physical design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and the ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or equivalent (HS diploma with drafting coursework).
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Substation General Arrangement drawings.
• Create Substation Electrical Equipment Plans and Section Views.
• Develop Substation Grounding and Conduit plans.
• Incorporate vendor information into design deliverables.
• Conduct client facility walkdowns.
