Job summary

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a Senior Engineer - Substation Physical in Pullman, WA, to lead design and execution of complex substation projects. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and support customers through the project lifecycle. Requires 12+ years in power systems, expert substation design knowledge, and a PE license.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of power systems experience.
• Expert-level knowledge in substation physical design and engineering principles.
• Extensive experience managing complex engineering projects and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical expert in the design and application of substation physical engineering solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to engineers, specialists, and technicians.
• Research, develop, and implement innovative engineering solutions, processes, and best practices.
• Lead the development and review of project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure high-quality execution.
• Manage engineering projects through the full project lifecycle from concept to installation and commissioning.
• Create detailed substation physical designs, electrical layouts, BOMs, and project estimates.
• Support customers with engineering design, configuration, validation, testing, commissioning, and implementation of engineered solutions.
• Collaborate with clients, utilities, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
• Promote EH&S initiatives and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Lead technical training efforts and support the professional development of engineering staff.
