Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to lead substation physical design for transmission and distribution projects. You will work with regional and global teams to deliver high-quality design deliverables, interfacing with utility and developer clients and guiding project teams across North America.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to sales and proposals, and stay involved in IEEE/PES industry developments while advancing energy transition initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PE license in United States or ability to obtain additional licenses.
• Minimum 8 years of direct substation physical design experience.
• Strong knowledge of HV switchgear, GIS, and related substation components.

Responsibilities

• Develop substation physical designs from concept through IFC drawings.
• Interface with utility/developer clients to align on standards and deliverables.
• Provide engineering overview and direction as Owner's Engineer when required.
• Mentor North America and global teams and support sales/proposals.
