Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to lead design deliverables for AIS/GIS substations and related facilities. You will work with regional and global teams to support utility/developer clients during energy transition projects, ensuring deliverables meet client standards and budget expectations.

You will mentor teams across North America and globally, participate in sales/support activities, and contribute to ensuring high‑quality design across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PE license within United States or ability to obtain.
• 8+ years direct Substation Physical design experience with utility or consulting.
• Experience with GIS, AIS, GIS substations and related design deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Develop Substation Physical design deliverables for transmission and distribution projects.
• Interface with utility/developer clients and review standards.
• Mentor North America and global teams within Jacobs GID.
• Support sales/proposals and deliver high‑quality services on time and within budget.
• Perform QA/QC of design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
