Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Substation Designer to deliver Protection & Control and Physical Design packages for utility, industrial, and data center projects. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, clients, and contractors from concept through construction, ensuring design quality and compliance with industry standards.

The role emphasizes mentoring junior designers, coordinating design development across disciplines, and applying digital design tools to improve project execution

Qualifications

• 12+ years of substation design experience.
• Experience with AIS and GIS substation design.
• Experience on 12 kV–500 kV projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop P&C and Physical design packages for substation projects.
• Create wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and relay panel drawings.
• Develop cable schedules and routing plans.
• Coordinate design with civil, structural, and protection engineering teams.
• Mentor junior designers and manage drawing revisions.
