Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer to lead technical and organizational efforts in our Power and Energy practice. The role focuses on high‑voltage protection, relaying, SCADA integration, and delivering complex projects with safety and quality at the forefront.

You will mentor engineers, oversee resource planning, and collaborate with clients across multiple offices to ensure reliable power delivery and successful startup activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery and technical execution of high-voltage substation protection and control projects.
• Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, automation, and substation communications.
• Develop and approve protection and control deliverables like schematics, wiring diagrams, relay settings.
• Lead power system studies, protection coordination and equipment selection.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and CDM Smith quality procedures.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for project delivery, commissioning, testing, and startup.
• Drive engineering standards development and continuous improvement.
