Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Substation Estimator / Cost Engineer to lead cost estimating for major utility transmission and substation projects. The role can be remote with periodic travel to client offices and project sites.

You will develop project estimates, evaluate proposals, support procurement, review change orders, and forecast costs throughout the lifecycle, leveraging extensive experience in high-voltage projects and utility contracting practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Advanced Excel skills and cost estimation capabilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed construction cost estimates.
• Evaluate contractor proposals and support procurement activities.
• Develop cash-flow forecasts and monitor budget performance.
• Review change orders and assist with cost-control strategies.
