GFT is seeking a Cost Engineer / Estimator to support major electric utility transmission and substation projects. This role can be remote with periodic travel to client offices and project sites, collaborating with senior estimators, project managers, engineers, and construction managers to develop cost estimates and support procurement.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in estimating, cost development, and project controls, with strong Excel skills and attention to detail to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, finance, or related field preferred.
• 3–7 years estimating, cost engineering, project controls, or construction experience.
• Experience with construction quantity takeoffs and cost development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.]

• Assist in preparation of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed construction estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Compile labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop estimate worksheets, bid summaries, and documentation.
• Maintain estimating templates, databases, and historical cost info.
• Support estimate reviews and reconciliation.
