Job summary

Stanley Consultants in Austin, TX is seeking a Substation Department Manager to lead the Substation Group. You will oversee department functions, budget planning, QA, and cross-disciplinary project support, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery for power delivery projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited University (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• 5+ years as Lead or Manager of small to medium sized groups of engineers and designers.
• P.E. (Professional Engineering License) or obtain one within one year of hire.
• Experience as Lead or Manager of projects involving cross discipline groups.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide recommendations for department plans, programs, and resources, including staff budgets and capital expenditures.
• Hire, salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations.
• Supervise and develop department members to achieve goals, implement training, and VRP plans.
• Appointment of discipline leads and reporting on department status and performance.
• Maintain a balanced workload within the department.
• Manage projects in power delivery and draft/review scopes and fees for proposals.
• Resolve technical/coordination issues between disciplines or departments.
• Communicate with clients, interpret needs, and develop progress reports.
• Perform other delegated functions by the Group Manager.
