Job summary

Aecon is seeking a Substation Supervisor to lead field teams in Austin, Texas. You will ensure safe, timely delivery of substation construction with a focus on quality and collaboration across client and project teams.

Bring 5+ years in substations, including 3+ in a supervisory role, and hands-on expertise in foundation, conduit, grounding, and related systems. Strong leadership and problem-solving are essential as you drive timelines and safety on complex projects.

Qualifications

5+ years substation field experience, including 3+ years in a Foreman or supervisory capacity.
Proven experience in foundation, conduit, grounding, trench, cable tray, structural steel, apparatus, bus work, and LV wiring.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; safety-first mindset.
Experience in brownfield environments and substation energization/start-up activities.
Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain relationships with client construction and field management teams.
Lead site mobilization and demobilization; ensure startup and closeout.
Interpret project schedules; manage daily construction activities to meet milestones.
Review IFC drawings; provide technical guidance to Foremen and crews.
Mentor Foremen to drive productivity, safety, and quality.
Manage RFIs and change orders; maintain accurate as-built drawings.
Coordinate material procurement, consumables, and logistics.
Oversee labour, equipment, and subcontractors; resolve on-site issues.
Develop weekly construction updates for the project team (resources, risks, etc.).
Enforce Aecon safety standards and promote safety culture.
