Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mid-level to Senior Substation Engineer to work from a US-based office or remotely. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams on power grid projects, developing and reviewing layouts, grounding systems, and equipment schedules.

You will collaborate with project teams to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality goals are met, with opportunities to mentor developing engineers in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Five years of professional experience for intermediate roles; ten years for senior roles.
• PE registration preferred for all positions.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred.
• Prior utility consulting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and/or review electrical designs for medium and high voltage substations.
• Lead physical electrical design including site layouts, buswork, grounding, shielding, and material lists.
• Coordinate design activities to meet schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Assist with site visits, estimating, and project meetings.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, NESC, IEEE, AtkinsRealis policies and procedures.
• Provide construction support and respond to site queries during construction.
