Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mid-level to Senior-level Protection & Control Engineer to join our team in Boston, MA or another AtkinsRéalis US-based office. You will lead and contribute to power substation and P&C engineering projects, developing detailed diagrams, wiring, and SCADA-related designs while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role requires independent work on fast-paced projects, with potential for a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in P&C electrical design.
• Experience with IEC61850/Goose messaging is a plus.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, and IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop efficient electrical design packages for medium/high voltage substations with multi-discipline teams.
• Coordinate design activities to meet schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Support site visits, estimations, and project meetings.
• Produce one-line, relay one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, and elementaries.
• Prepare material specifications and construction work documents.
• Review designs for code compliance and constructability.
• Provide construction support and site inspections during projects.
• Maintain project documentation and data.
