Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Senior Substation Engineer in the United States. This remote role within the U.S.

offers occasional travel (10% or less) and focuses on utility-scale and distributed energy projects across solar, wind, storage, microgrids, EV and data center demands. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop reliable, safe, and cost-effective electrical systems, apply AI-driven tools, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and six+ years in utilities, energy, or renewables.
• Active PE license and US residence.
• Strong understanding of power systems, grid operations, and renewable technologies (PV, wind, storage).
• Experience designing, reviewing, and checking high-voltage substation drawings and docs.
• Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop initial substation design concepts and oversee detailed design for utility and renewable projects.
• Prepare substation layouts, single-line diagrams, grounding, protection, and cable schedules.
• Contribute to generation, transmission, and distribution system designs including solar, wind, and storage.
• Review designs, equipment specs, and vendor documentation for EPC projects.
• Develop technical specs for major electrical equipment and ensure alignment with standards.
• Coordinate with civil/structural teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Independently perform design development, analysis and reviews with high quality.
• Leverage AI and automation to enhance engineering quality and productivity.
