Job summary

TRC, Member of WSP is seeking a Substation Engineer to oversee electrical protection, control design, and substation layouts for US clients. Projects range from small upgrades to large transmission facilities, with emphasis on safe, compliant, and efficient design.

You will coordinate with Civil/Structural, Networks and Transmission teams, perform design reviews, and provide field support during construction, while contributing to process improvements and client communications.

Qualifications

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to adapt and modify standard approaches and criteria.
• Professional Engineer registration is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual designs and execution plans for substations.
• Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules.
• Physical substation design including yard layouts and grounding.
• Protection and control design and panel wiring.
• Quality reviews for other engineers and designers.
• Provide field support during construction.
• Coordinate with Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line teams.
• Support business development and technology implementations.
