Job summary

Actalent Services, LLC is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to join our Tulsa, OK-based team. You will lead substation projects, develop scopes, and review drawings for compliance while collaborating with in-house and client engineers. Expect occasional site visits and mentorship of junior staff.

The role requires a PE license, a minimum of nine years in utilities with substations, and a strong background in design calculations, protection, grounding, and equipment selection.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE license is required; Masters may count toward experience.
• At least nine years in utilities with substations.
• Experience scoping, estimating, and ordering materials for substations.
• Proven ability to lead substation projects and train junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes, one-line diagrams, and estimates for substation projects.
• Review substation drawings for compliance with codes and standards.
• Engineer lightning protection, grounding, and equipment replacement for substations.
• Provide training and guidance to lower-level engineers.
• Lead and coordinate work activities to complete substation projects.
• Interpret codes and develop construction standards.
• Travel to project sites for walk-downs and information gathering.
• Ensure timely material delivery and project documentation updates.
