Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineer 3 in the Power Delivery Engineering Business Unit in Arizona.

The role involves designing substations, protection and control systems, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex energy infrastructure projects. The candidate will perform engineering design, QA/QC, and develop drawings while supporting business development and ensuring client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• QA/QC reviews for substation and protection/control systems up to 500kV.
• Development and revision of engineering drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, grounding plans).
• Reviewing deliverables to ensure client standards and design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop control and relay panel specifications, BOMs and project criteria documents.
• Design and size auxiliary systems (AC/DC, batteries, conduits, cables).
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with civil, electrical, environmental, geotechnical, and permitting professionals.
