David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the technical execution of substation design for utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS projects across the United States.

You will develop the design basis and oversee the creation of single line diagrams, general arrangements, and related drawings, while mentoring project teams. The role emphasizes senior technical leadership, quality assurance, and ongoing advancement of power delivery solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• 10+ years of direct substation engineering experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer.
• Experience managing complex multidisciplinary tasks.
• Ability to mentor and develop technical teams.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development of substation design from basis of design to drawings and documents.
• Lead cross-discipline coordination for project designs.
• Mentor project team and ensure QA/QC across deliverables.
• Oversee studies such as grounding, short circuit, arc flash, and reactive compensation.
• Review relay settings and system protection concepts.
• Support project construction, RFI responses, and commissioning activities.
• Manage estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
