Job summary

Vanderweil Engineers seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to direct high-voltage substation projects from concept through construction, including PE stamping and QA/QC processes. You will mentor engineers, lead client meetings, and coordinate across disciplines in a hybrid Atlanta/NYC/Philly/Boston footprint.

Required is a PE license and 12+ years of utility/substation experience. The role offers a competitive salary with bonus eligibility and a flexible hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary substation projects and stamping engineering deliverables.
• Mentoring engineers and designers; client-facing and scope/proposal experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering for high-voltage substations from conceptual design through construction support and record drawings.
• Provide senior technical oversight for substation physical design and protection & control systems.
• Lead client meetings, scope definition, proposal development, and change-order technical support.
• Direct and mentor team members and coordinate with related disciplines.
• Support field investigations, RFIs, submittals, energization, and as-built documentation.
