Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Substation to lead design efforts for complex substations and EPC projects across multiple sites. The role involves development of protection, control, and physical design deliverables, with emphasis on coordination with clients and internal teams.

Ideal candidates bring 11+ years of experience, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and a PE license, with hybrid/work-flexible arrangements and strong mentorship responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, MVR).
• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead or coordinate design for utility substations and EPC projects.
• Develop protection and control designs for substations and equipment wiring.
• Prepare equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and project teams.
• Mentor less experienced staff and oversee design quality.
