Join to apply for the Senior Substation Electrical Engineer role at POWER Engineers.

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is seeking a senior-level Electrical Engineer with substantial experience in substation design (or equivalent) to support the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Saint Louis, Missouri, office. There are opportunities for remote, hybrid, or in-office working conditions. Employee is required to live within a commutable distance of the office.

Responsibilities

• Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations, including one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable routing, physical layouts, equipment selection, specifications, proposals, cost estimates, and scheduling.
• Perform QA/QC for project deliverables across multiple offices.
• Ensure adherence to POWER quality procedures and optimal resource allocation.
• Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Required Education/Experience

• BSEE or BSEET degree from an accredited university.
• Experience in 15kV through 345kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards.
• Management experience with 5+ team members.
• Experience as project engineer on multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Desired Education/Experience

• 10+ years in utility substation design.
• Professional Engineering license (PE).
• Established relationships with Central region clients.
• Experience with 345kV through 750kV substation design.
