Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Clayton, Missouri, is seeking a Substation Physical Designer to join a project team of engineers and designers working on high and extra high voltage substations. The role involves preparing substation drawings such as General Arrangement, Equipment Plans, Elevations, BOM, Grounding, and Connection details.

This hybrid position requires at least 12 years of design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation, and the ability to visualize parts in 3D.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Drafting, or a high school diploma with 2+ years drafting coursework or equivalent.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare substation drawings: General Arrangement, Electrical Equipment Plans, Elevations, BOM, Grounding Plans, and Conduit/Connection Details.
• Create Grounding, Lightning Shielding, and Below Grade Conduit/Raceway Plans.
• Contribute to Control Building Equipment, Cable Tray, Lighting, and Section plans.
• Incorporate vendor information into design deliverables and perform client facility walkdowns.
• Apply Client's standards related to the work.
