Job summary

Arup seeks a Senior Substation Designer to lead HV substation design projects for utilities, renewables, and data centers. You will deliver 3D models, 2D drawings, and design packages from concept through completion, mentoring junior designers and coordinating across disciplines in a dynamic team.

The role requires 6+ years of relevant experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation, and familiarity with IEEE/ANSI standards.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of HV substation design experience.
• Experience in 15 kV through 345 kV utility substations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings for HV substations, including single-line diagrams and grounding plans.
• Lead, coach and mentor junior designers and CAD technicians.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to produce a fully coordinated design.
• Incorporate feedback from engineers into design packages.
• Ensure compliance with design codes and client specifications.
• Manage revisions and archiving of project drawings and models.
