Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Senior 3D Substation Physical Designer to join a project team, creating 3D models and comprehensive drawings for high/extra high voltage substations. You will use Inventor, AutoCAD, P4A, and SDS to produce GA, equipment plans, sections, and BOM, while incorporating vendor data and conducting walkdowns.

The role supports a hybrid work schedule and requires extensive 3D drafting experience with IEEE standards knowledge.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or higher, or high school diploma with 5+ years 3D drafting experience.
• 10+ years preparing 3D substation models and physical design experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Inventor, P4A, Vault Pro and SDS.
• Ability to visualize in 3D and layout substation equipment per IEEE standards.
• Able to follow a CAD standard.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D model that generates GA, equipment plans, sections, connection details, BOM and more.
• Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables.
• Conduct walkdowns at client substation facilities.
