Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Substation Designer with HV substation experience for power utilities, renewables, and data centers. You will support projects from concept through design completion for utilities, contractors and developers.

This role can be based in our West Coast or Southern offices, including Seattle, and offers leadership of junior designers, interdisciplinary coordination, and strict adherence to design codes and client specs. Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation is valued.

Qualifications

• HV substation design experience for 15kV through 345kV.
• Mentor junior designers and CAD technicians.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver fully coordinated designs.
• Follow design codes and client specifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings of HV substations, including diagrams and BOMs.
• Lead and mentor junior designers and CAD technicians.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure fully coordinated design.
• Incorporate feedback from engineers into design packages.
