Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Designer II to lead physical substation design, guiding staff from planning through IFC. The role combines office work with significant field activities and requires coordinating with Project Engineers, Protection & Control, Civil, and other disciplines.

You will manage project workloads, mentor designers and CAD technicians, ensure design quality and compliance with standards, and support proposals, planning, estimating, and client communications.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent with 12–14 years of experience or an Associate’s degree with 12 years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license required for field-oriented roles.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Strong mentoring and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead physical substation design as Design Leader and guide staff to deliver projects.
• Manage workflow and delegate tasks to ensure timely completion.
• Ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and quality targets.
• Coordinate with Protection & Control and other disciplines to integrate designs.
• Provide field support and assist with project documentation.
