Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Engineer based in Mount Pleasant, PA, with a hybrid work model offering remote and in-office collaboration. You will lead GIS substation projects from concept to installation, translating customer needs into innovative engineering solutions and developing detailed layouts and documentation.

You will work with global teams, manage procurement and installation planning, and strive for cost optimization while ensuring ISO compliance and safety throughout project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in substation engineering, HV equipment, power systems, or heavy industrial environments.
• Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD; Creo and AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience creating and managing engineering documentation and deliverables.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings and site support.

Responsibilities

• Lead GIS substation projects from concept through installation.
• Translate customer requirements into practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Develop substation layouts, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Lead technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Coordinate material procurement, fabrication, and installation planning.
• Drive design improvements, standardization, and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, environmental and safety regulations.
