Irby Construction Company is seeking a seasoned Substation Construction Superintendent for Tulsa, OK and Greater Austin, TX regions. The role requires directing multiple crews, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to electrical standards across substations, with travel as project demands.

The candidate must have 10+ years in substation construction, strong ability to read complex drawings, and deep knowledge of OSHA, NESC, and utility safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of substation construction experience.
• Experience supervising multiple crews.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, NESC, and utility safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and diagrams.
• Willingness to travel; outdoor work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-construction meeting with PM/Estimator.
• Provide technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, and construction methods.
• Review bid packages for accuracy and electrical scope of work.
• Organize crews and assign foreman to job task; coordinate transfers.
• Maintain daily construction logs, manpower, and equipment utilization.
• Coordinate with utility owner and engineering for commissioning, startup, energization.
