Senior Substation Civil Structural Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Substation Civil/Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Orlando, FL. As a key team member, you will collaborate with other electric utility disciplines, leading and designing high voltage utility civil substation projects. Location & Work Arrangement

• Remote Capabilities Available for select candidates within client servicing territories
• Hybrid Work Schedule: 2-3 days in the office per week
• Additional Location Options: Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Minneapolis, MN; Chicago, IL; Remote (for qualified candidates)

Responsibilities

• Review and develop civil/structural designs for substations, including steel structures, concrete foundations, geotechnical aspects, oil spill containment, retaining walls, masonry shelters, and fire-walls
• Perform design reviews and support bid/construction package development
• Lead and mentor junior staff members
• Oversee work quality and ensure project scope, schedule, and budget compliance
• Conduct site visits and participate in client meetings and industry events

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil-Structural Engineering
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• PE Licensure preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MATHCAD, STAAD.Pro, RISA-3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, LPILE, AutoCAD, MicroStation
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 10%
