POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Transmission Engineer to join our Overhead Transmission design team. This position is available in multiple POWER office locations with the option to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location. Please specify your preferred location in the application.

Roles And Responsibilities

The successful applicant will provide senior-level project leadership and technical expertise, including mentoring and supervising team members. Projects will involve transmission lines over 100 miles in length, operating up to 765kV, with a focus on structural engineering and lattice tower design and detailing development.

Technical Skills/Knowledge Include The Following

• Design of transmission lines including new lines, relocations, rebuilds, upgrades, and fiber optic additions
• Lead transmission design projects from 12kV to 765kV
• Prepare and review design deliverables such as drawings, material specs, and construction documents
• Conduct quality reviews for internal and subcontractor outputs
• Manage multiple projects within budget and schedule constraints
• Develop project proposals, estimates, and bids
• Evaluate design options and routes for technical merit
• Understand high voltage construction standards
• Coordinate with contractors and clients to ensure satisfaction
• Travel as needed to client sites and vendors
• Provide expertise in lattice transmission towers

Minimum Education and Experience

• BSc in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• Professional Engineering license
• Experience in overhead high and extra-high voltage transmission line design
• Knowledge of NESC and GO-95 standards
• Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, and PLS-Lite software
• Excellent English communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Proficiency in lattice tower analysis and design tools

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years in transmission line or structural design
• Additional PE licenses, such as California PE or Structural Engineering license
• Experience with project management tools like MS Project
• Knowledge of transmission routing, project planning, and standards such as ANSI, ASTM, ASCE, IEC
• Leadership experience in recruiting, mentoring, and training
