Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Principal Subcontracts Management Specialist to lead highly complex procurements and coach the subcontracts team. You will direct bid package development, negotiate critical terms, and ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS and security requirements.

Role requires strong leadership, advanced contract analysis, and the ability to mentor staff while collaborating with cross-functional leaders to align supplier strategies with program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 8+ years of related experience; 12 years if no degree.
• Higher level degree may substitute for experience.
• Master-level proficiency in subcontract management.
• FAR Part 15 experience.
• Cost/Price Analysis experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Direct and optimize development of subcontract specs, work statements, and terms and conditions for highly complex procurements.
• Lead the preparation of intricate bid packages and evaluation criteria for subcontract proposals.
• Analyze high-value subcontractor proposals for compliance with technical, financial, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct high-stakes negotiations of subcontract provisions, including terms, price, and schedule.
• Mentor and guide the subcontract management team and staff.
• Maintain records and monitor performance metrics for subcontractors.
• Identify and select new subcontractors based on strategic fit.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS and related regulations; drive process improvements.
