Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a Small UAS (sUAS) Systems Engineer SME at Hurlburt Field, Florida. US citizenship and active TS/SCI eligibility are required. The role leads a multidisciplinary engineering team, provides systems engineering and acquisition expertise, and travels up to 15% (CONUS).

Responsibilities span integration, design reviews, and MBSE efforts, with a focus on delivering mission-ready capabilities for government programs and joint teams.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in systems engineering, acquisitions, and RDT&E.
• Proven experience in aviation system design, development, integration, test and evaluation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing senior leadership.
• Strong customer service skills; ability to work across multiple disciplines.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Ability to work in a cross-disciplinary team with engineers and military operators.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and technical management for mission system applications.
• Facilitate and participate in engineering integration meetings and design reviews.
• Lead System Engineer engagements and integrate test teams.
• Coordinate on-aircraft integration activities and test build events.
• Raise integration issues to leadership and plan resources for integration and test.
• Report on status of ongoing integration and test activities.
• Contribute to MBSE approaches and open architecture implementations.
• Develop technical briefings for senior technical and leadership stakeholders.
