Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a NCPA Program Associate to provide tailored academic support to Nebraska College Preparatory Academy students in Omaha and to coordinate multi-day summer programming at UNL.

The role involves recruiting activities, liaising with counselors and organizations, and delivering events to support first-generation/low-income students. Weekend/evening hours and travel are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, public speaking experience, and ability to work independently.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience with first generation, low-income and ethnic-minority students necessary.
• Must have demonstrated ability to relate to K-12 age populations.
• Weekend and evening hours required.
• Travel required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized academic support and guidance for NCPA students in Omaha.
• Coordinate all multi-day summer programming for NCPA high school students at UNL.
• Coordinate recruitment programs in Omaha.
• Meet with school counselors and prospective students; interact with community organizations and agencies.
• Plan and implement events for recruitment and retention of first-generation/low-income students.
• Serve as liaison between UNL, Omaha and other communities.
