Job summary

Requirements include Nebraska RN licensure or NLC, CPR/AED, and a bachelor’s degree; BSN preferred. The position is 10 months with 188 duty days, and includes summer duty pay and potential additional duties.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Registered Nursing Program, required.
• Hold a valid nursing license with Nebraska DHHS or the Nurse Licensure Compact, required.
• CPR & AED certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire, required.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree; BSN preferred.
• Ability to obtain Special Services School Nurse Certificate through the Nebraska Department of Education, preferred.
• Excellent attendance and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing/health care for children with varied medical issues.
• Provides on-site health assessments and develops/implements emergency health care plans.
• Ensures compliance with the state's immunization program and maintains health records.
• Coordinates with staff and parents to promote student health and safety.
• Responds effectively to injuries, illnesses, and crisis situations.
• Maintains secure storage for medications and medical equipment.
