Job summary

Granite Construction seeks a seasoned Estimator to develop accurate proposals for private and public works from $50–$100 million. You will review drawings, analyze costs, and coordinate with field operations to ensure competitive bids.

The role requires 5 years of experience (10 preferred), a civil/ construction background, and strong leadership to mentor estimating staff. Base salary reflects the scope and region, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience.
• 5 years of structures estimating experience required, 10 years experience preferred. Prior management experience required.
• Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AGTEK Take-off and Primavera Scheduling software.
• Advanced knowledge of Estimating software and civil/ construction principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of DBE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and timely proposals and estimates for private and public sector works from $50–$100 million.
• Review drawings and specifications; solicit input from field operations for final estimate.
• Analyze cost data and alternative methods to improve bid competitiveness.
• Lead bid reviews with senior management to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Develop and maintain relationships to increase bid opportunities in the regional market.
• Supervise estimating staff and participate in design-build preconstruction services.
