Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced structural engineer to design, analyze, develop, and test secondary structures for space hardware within the Lunar Permanence unit. You will create 3D models and detailed drawings, support manufacturing, and provide integration guidance for flight hardware.

The role emphasizes mechanical design with strong CAD skills, GD&T proficiency, and experience with large aerospace structures. Experience with Creo/ Windchill and FEA tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in engineering.
• 8+ years of experience with automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
• Experience on recently developed aircraft or launch vehicles in structural design and sizing.
• Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.
• Familiar with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
• Preferred: rapid application of structural mechanics principles via hand calculations and FEA.
• Experience with Creo or Windchill is desired.

Responsibilities

• Design, analysis, development, and testing of secondary structures and assemblies.
• Create 3D models, detail part drawings, assemblies, and interface control documents.
• Provide manufacturing and production support for hardware.
• Offer technical guidance for integration and configuration development.
• Plan, coordinate, conduct tests and review data for flight hardware.
