Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Fitter Fabricator to perform layout, fit-up and fabrication with advanced blueprint interpretation and equipment operation.

You will weld in all positions to AWS D1.1/D1.5 standards (1G, 2G, 3G, 6G) and cut with torch and plasma. Strong blueprint reading and independent work habits are essential, with opportunities for junior fabrication training.

Qualifications

• Ability to complete inhouse training of AISC Layout & Fit-Up Training.
• Proven fabrication experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced layout and fit-up activities.
• Perform MIG, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, SAW
• Weld in all positions to AWS D1.1 and D1.5 standards. (1G, 2G, 3G, 6G)
• Perform advance torch and plasma cutting operations
• Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings.
• Independently operate hand saws, mag drills, and fabrication equipment.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Assist with training junior fabricators.
