Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking a Structural Steel Fitter in Richmond, VA to assemble and prepare steel components per drawings and project specs. You will measure, fit, and lay out parts, using a track torch and welding know-how to support fabrication while ensuring safety and quality.

This full-time contract-to-hire role offers 1st and 2nd shifts with pay up to $28.00/hour, plus a $3.00/hour second shift differential, based on experience and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience as Structural Steel Fitter or in a similar steel fabrication role.
• Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of welding techniques, equipment and materials.
• Ability to set up and operate track torch.
• AWS welding certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate measuring.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, fabrication drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and assembly requirements.

Position Overview

• Welding certification, such as AWS, preferred.
