Job summary

Tiello seeks a Senior Estimator for structural steel fabrication and erection projects in the Mountain West region. You will lead front-end estimates, develop budgets from early design information, and collaborate with owners, GCs, architects, and engineers to shape project opportunities.

The ideal candidate has a strong structural steel estimating background, experience with detailing, fabrication, and erection, and can mentor team members while guiding cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• 5 years of structural steel estimating experience
• Strong background estimating fabrication and erection
• Experience with incomplete design information and conceptual estimates
• Understanding of structural steel detailing, fabrication, erection, and project execution
• Experience with preconstruction collaboration with owners, architects, engineers, and general contractors

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual, schematic, GMP, design-assist, and final structural steel estimates
• Develop budgets from conceptual or early-stage project information
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for fabrication and erection
• Establish estimating assumptions, exclusions, contingencies, and risks
• Maintain pricing databases and historical cost benchmarks
• Analyze plans, specs, and schedules for scope and pricing considerations
• Collaborate with owners, engineers, architects, GC, and internal teams
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and value engineering discussions
• Mentor junior estimating staff and develop best practices
• Monitor market conditions, material pricing, and procurement opportunities
