Job summary

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. seeks a Structural Engineer to design and stamp structural drawings for mechanical platforms, supports, and racks on large commercial and industrial projects.

You will work with project leaders and in-house design teams to develop concepts, provide guidance, and visit sites for information when needed. Based in Richmond, VA, the role requires a Virginia PE or SE license, 5+ years in structural industrial work, and proficiency with STRUDL, Revit, Tekla, and Navisworks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with structural focus.
• Active Virginia PE license in structural engineering (SE/structural preferred).
• 5+ years of structural industrial experience; crane design or foundations preferred.
• Proficient with STRUDL or similar structural software.
• Familiarity with IBC/ACI/AISC standards and codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural guidance during estimating toward project proposals.
• Review scopes for code compliance and accuracy.
• Perform structural analysis and design for mechanical platforms, supports, and racks on large projects.
• Prepare, review, and stamp structural drawings and calculations.
• Collaborate with architects, PMs, and other disciplines to develop integrated solutions.
• Provide leadership for the structural department.
• Oversee creation of structural models in Revit and Tekla to coordinate with other disciplines.
• Conduct site visits for conditions and verification.
