Atlantic Constructors is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Tekla Detailer to join our Raleigh team, producing precise fabrication drawings and 3D models. Working under senior detailers, you will interpret drawings, coordinate with engineers and fabricators, and ensure QA standards are met.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Tekla Detailer experience in structural steel.
• Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures.
• Strong knowledge of AISC or relevant industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Experience with clash detection and coordination.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for assigned projects using Tekla Structures.
• Interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design intent.
• Produce shop drawings, erection drawings, material take-offs, generate BOMs/NC files, follow company drawing standards and QA checklists.
• Coordinate with senior detailers, engineers, project managers, and shop personnel to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Review and check drawings for quality, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
• Manage revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in resolving design and fabrication issues.

Summary/Objective

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Tekla Detailer to join our team and play a key role in producing high-quality structural steel fabrication drawings. Working under senior detailers, this position requires a strong understanding of fabrication and construction processes, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and fabricators.

Required Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Tekla Detailer (structural steel)
• Experience working with fabrication shops or on-site construction teams
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and integration

Work Environment

• Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
• Position may require visits to construction site
• Flexible work arrangements (if applicable)

Physical Demands

• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machine
