Job summary

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. seeks a Senior Tekla Detailer to lead 3D modeling and fabrication drawings for complex steel projects. You will supervise junior detailers, define detailing standards, and ensure drawings meet fabrication and erection requirements with minimal oversight.

This role emphasizes strong experience with Tekla Structures, AISC codes, and coordination across engineers, PMs, and shop personnel. Remote-friendly with site visits in the Charlotte area.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as Tekla Detailer (structural steel) with leadership experience.
• Able to lead detailing projects and mentor junior detailers.
• Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures.
• Strong knowledge of AISC codes and industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Experience with clash detection and coordination.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead Tekla modelling and detailing for complex projects, define standards, and ensure deliverables meet fabrication and erection requirements with minimal oversight.
• Own larger scopes of fabrication projects, develop detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures.
• Interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design intent.
• Resolve complex connections and clashes, performing QA/QC final checks.
• Produce shop drawings, erection drawings, BOMs and NC files, and material take-offs.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, junior detailers, and fabrication shop personnel to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Estimate efforts and support client communications when necessary.
• Review and check drawings for quality, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
• Manage revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in resolving design and fabrication issues.
