Job summary

GPAC is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to lead complex structural projects in a hybrid work environment. You will oversee design through construction administration, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers while growing client relationships in the Greater Chicago market.

The role requires PE licensure, a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, and 5+ years of experience in structural design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• PE license required; Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of structural engineering design experience.
• Experience preparing construction documents and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and seismic design principles.
• Proficiency with ETABS, RISA, RAM, Enercalc, Revit and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural projects from design through construction administration.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Serve as a key client contact and strengthen relationships.
• Support project pursuits, proposals and business development.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
