Job summary

GRAEF, a leading U.S. consulting firm, seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Chicago office. You will lead structural design efforts, mentor junior staff, and contribute to project oversight and coordination with other disciplines.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus, SE registration, and 8+ years of building design experience; Revit proficiency is essential. We offer a hybrid schedule and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• 8+ years of professional experience in structural design of buildings.
• Professional SE registration.
• Working knowledge of Revit.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Project oversight including setting priorities and developing objectives, project financial management as well as hands-on involvement in the design process.
• Serve as a technical resource for less experienced engineers and designers.
• Design and analyze structural systems for a variety of buildings and structural projects.
• Coordinate between multiple disciplines and attend project coordination meetings.
• Develop structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Contribute to quality assurance and quality control processes.
• Mentor and support developing engineers and structural staff.
