GRAEF, a leading U.S. consulting firm, seeks an experienced Structural Engineer for our Chicago office to lead the design and oversight of building projects from concept through final drawings and calculations.

The ideal candidate will have an SE license, a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus, 8+ years of experience, proficiency in Revit, and strong communication skills to mentor staff and coordinate with disciplines in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• 8+ years of professional experience in structural design of buildings.
• Professional SE registration.
• Working knowledge of Revit.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Project oversight including setting priorities and developing objectives, project financial management as well as hands-on involvement in the design process.
• Serve as a technical resource for less experienced engineers and designers.
• Design and analyze structural systems for a variety of buildings and projects.
• Coordinate between multiple disciplines and attend project coordination meetings.
• Develop structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Contribute to QA/QC processes.
• Mentor and support developing engineers and structural staff.
