Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to work independently on small projects and as a team member of larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer. The Structural Engineer will be able to evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems or products for a project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required, master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering license is required, Structural Engineering license is preferred.
• Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit).
• Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite).
• Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.).
• Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small projects.
• Development of job specific specifications independently for less complex projects.
• Coordinate with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines for coordination of the project.
• Perform Construction Administration duties including field observations, RFIs, submittal reviews, and change orders.
• Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients.
• Understand industry standard design processes and construction means and methods.
• Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Assist with development of design standards.
