Job summary

Stantec's Buildings team is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to work independently on small and medium projects and lead discipline efforts on larger ones. You will evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems, perform structural calculations, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The role requires 6+ years of related experience, a PE license, and proficiency with Revit and standard structural software.

Qualifications

Knowledge of structural design codes and building codes.
Strong knowledge of seismic design and construction means and methods.
Clear written and verbal communication across diverse audiences.
Ability to review others' work for accuracy and completeness.
Valid driver's license with clean MVR.
Experience with modeling software (Revit) and standard structural software (CSI, RAM, RISA).

Responsibilities

Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects.
Develop job-specific specifications for less complex projects.
Lead junior engineers on complex projects.
Coordinate work with architecture, other disciplines and consultants.
Perform construction administration duties (RFIs, submittals, change orders).
Communicate design issues and solutions with team and stakeholders.
Deliver projects on schedule and within budget while ensuring high client service.
Assist with development of design standards.
