Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team in Los Angeles seeks a Senior Structural Project Engineer to work independently on small and medium projects and lead larger efforts. You will evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems for projects and lead junior engineers.

Responsibilities include independent calculations, development of specifications, and coordination with multiple disciplines, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with high client service. Requisite PE license and Revit experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires 6+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer license is required; Structural PE preferred.
• Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit).
• Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office).
• Experience with industry standard structural engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects.
• Develop job specific specifications independently for less complex projects.
• Lead junior engineers in complex projects.
• Coordinate with architectural interiors and other engineering disciplines.
• Perform Construction Administration duties including field observations, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients.
• Understand industry standard design processes and construction means and methods.
• Deliver projects on time and within budgets with high client service.
• Assist with development of design standards.
