Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services Group in Walnut Creek, CA or Folsom, CA. You will lead the structural design for facilities across technology, corporate, education, healthcare, and more, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team through planning, documentation, and construction.

The role requires a PE license, 10+ years of design experience, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

Requires professional engineering licensure (PE or equivalent) recognized by the local licensing board.
Experience in design calculations and layouts.
Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood.
Understanding of gravity and lateral analysis.
Experience with structural design in architectural/engineering firms.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for structural EITs, junior engineers, designers, and/or modelers toward training and project delivery.
Serve as a technical expert with authority in structural engineering for projects.
Act as EOR to lead all structural aspects of large multidisciplinary projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity.
Coordinate staffing and workload to deliver complete documents on schedule.
Produce and coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
Lead design development sessions with project managers and other disciplines.
Oversee section staff operations, profitability, morale, quality control, and marketing support.
May function as an Assistant Project Manager and support production and management tasks.
