Job summary

Providence Engineering is seeking a Project Engineer, Structural to coordinate and manage engineering work on diverse projects with oversight by an experienced engineer when appropriate. You will guide design engineers, ensure on-time, code-compliant deliverables, and manage budgets and client relations.

The role requires a PE/SE license, a bachelor’s degree in structural-focused engineering, and 5–8 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural/Civil/Architectural Engineering with structural emphasis is required.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE/SE) is required.
• 5–8 years of related engineering experience is expected.
• Strong budgeting and cost containment skills are required.
• Excellent time management with ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to supervise and lead others are important.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage engineering work on projects of varying sizes with oversight as appropriate.
• Oversee design engineers with project manager oversight to ensure timely and code-compliant deliverables.
• Ensure engineering and financial success of assigned projects.
• Develop engineering plans and designs with project manager supervision.
• Prepare and manage proposals and estimates for projects.
• Seal reports and drawings after QC review; ensure redline accuracy for drafting.
• Prepare calculations and drawings per established standards for QC submissions.
• Discuss design intent and load paths with project manager before design work.
• Interact with external clients to develop relationships and pursue projects.
